Hrm.

I can see that, though I think it’s hard for that artist to be dealing with this situation for sometime. I mean, I heard it’s been 3 years since this conflict has been occurring, though I don’t really know... (No offense)

Also, I believe that true artists don’t take another artist’s idea to clam it’s theirs, steal or anything like that. True artists in my opinion can be described as creative people that use their own ideas that they want to create (that can also go for writers, poets, photographers and so on). =\ There are a large amount of artists that want to obtain a future that they would like to achieve. I know it’s not easy when it comes to this, but all it takes is creativity from the mind and hard work in my opinion. I find it more appropriate and fair to that artist as well as others.

Though letting the main creator that is © by him or her got their talent taken away? (sorry if this doesn’t make sense). I mean, if that happened to me I would feel pissed to be completely honest. =\ Just imagine, if an artist want to create a portfolio for someone the interwar might not be interested since they’ve seen the same art from someone else (the person who takes the main artist’s idea)

So yeah, it’s kind of like a feeling where an artist will think “all this work for nothing”.

Pourquoi est-ce j'ai un problem? Because I'd much rather see a crappily copied picture than one that has potential. You're wasting your artistic talent! ><; Besides, is it fair to other artists who work hard on their own to become good? I don't think so... at least they copied in private instead of publishing their work on the internet. I know, I think all of us have seen on your journal that you've asked permission, but I know Andrew Dickman and I doubt he'd give you an OK for using his Sonic picture. And what was the deal with Katzu? She's flipping out... I highly doubt she finds it alright that you used her picture as a base for your character's artwork.

And the admins? Kimi, there's over 52 million deviations on here and only a handful of admins/moderators in each category. -_-; Don't jump to the conclusion that they look at your artwork and find it OK; thing is, I doubt that at first glance they would know that you used a pose from someone else. It's the Deviant's responsibility to report any thefts, and they should be responsible enough to delete any of their old artwork that had been an art theft. Or maybe you're just lazy to delete them yourself... wow, that's some consideration for the DA staff. ;D

Is it really that difficult to come up with your own poses from your own imagination instead of the imagination of others? A friend of mine told me the other day that you'd be an even better artist than you are now if you'd stop imitating and come up with your own pictures. You're 22 years old, you're capable of doing that.

Honey, Katzu may be the only one actually yelling, but there are a lot of people whispering, and she's not alone in sharing her point of view. For the matter, I don't know Katzu aside from the fact she's in the Harvesters like me and she's a good artist here on DA. That's the extent of it, so don't think I'm taking this side just because she happens to be on it.

Taking a picture and claiming it as your own is bad, but I find it worse when the original artwork was defiled into someone else's idea. And I wouldn't expect you to use a pose from me; my art isn't worthy of being ripped and it's a pile of crap. If you are going to rip... at least rip fighting poses! -.- I think it's an even bigger waste that you were ripping standing poses, which aren't too difficult to make up.

I really have nothing against you, but I fail to see why you aren't capable of coming up with your own ideas.

1. Have you ever read the older posts? I ASKED artists because of that. The only one whos getting pissed off is Kazu! because she think i steal her character (my Kimiko) and, and, and. This old picture with the car is a exception, i was a "Newbie" and think: It's not so bad.

2.You think that Sega was angry because of a picture who i take a pose? Did you don't think they haven't better things to do? This was named: Fan Art! (Do you know how much artists use the original poses? I never saw anyone who say: "Thief!")

3.You won't say that you REALLY thinking it exist ONE pose on deviant which no one use!? (sry for that stupid english) Camera or not! What do you think i'm doing? Hands,Poses,but it's although familar to other poses! So,who can say now it's a copie or it's a camera picture? I know an old story where i draw a character (a fox) in brown,take a halfmoon on her her head and then someone say: You steal my char!(Because of this halfmoon) On this time i don't know deviant and post it in a forum! (3 years ago) Who can say it's a copie or not? Did i go to everyone who takes a stand pose and say: "You stealing because stand poses are my idea!" ?

4.I asked the artists or write it in my journal when i draw a pose of another artist. Nobody say: "Delete it" or "it isn't ok!" Why it's wrong when all say,thats ok? I use many own poses (the older pictures was over 1 year ago) and some other artists take my poses. You all do as i never had draw only one own pose! Most i draw stand poses (how anybody can steal stand poses?) the new poses are all mine (wheelkick and something) whats the prob?

My is: I take poses but i never say,it's my own! (Only it IS my own) When i use other posts,i write it and make a link! (Or question bevore i submit. For example yamer.My shark looks very familar to her and i asked her. She say:It's cute,and no it isn't a problem) SOmetimes it can be that i forgot some one,most it's very late when i submit (like now: 23:31) and then my concentration is down.
The older pictures are another buisness. I thought it's ok to use poses.But i don't know ANY artist who's not use another idea or inspiration for her own pics.
It's a theme who some say,ok,the others say,no. What really is right and wrong,that must everybody decide by himself. (I think)

If you have a problem with that,sent a note to an admin. I won't tell every artist (who's saying that i'm stealing) the same again and again. It can be that some artists say: I go because all was against me,but i i'm not such a person. My own opinion is important for me! It's make no sence how much will write the same. This is the last time i answer one post if the people can't read what i say. Everyone use ideas from others (clothes,poses,hairstyles,linearts,coloration styles) or have familar characters to others! Foxes or something! When everyone who use ideas from others is a thief,than 90% of the artists are thiefs. I have enough own poses and yes,sometimes i use other ideas, too. Kimiko-chan, the big problem with all this is that... you're great at copying. You're great at covering up pictures. If they were crappy rips, we could laugh. But you have the artistic potential to become a great artist, and it annoys everyone how you're wasting that potential by copying poses, instead of making your own original poses.

It's not about the money; it's an honor thing among artists that our ideas are original and not repeats of others. Referencing is fine for practice and to post once or twice.. but you've done it various times. No one owns a pose, but they damn well own the picture they drew of that pose. And as Kayona pointed out, you didn't give credit for some of your pictures (even if you did, it wouldn't help the situation).

Yes, it is true that they don't own the pose, but they do own the picture. Even though they do not make money on the picture (then again, you never know, and they could sue you for copyright violation).

I do have to say, copying pictures is a great way to learn how to draw. I admit that. I've done it before. But the problem is when you show your referenced drawings to the public.

There is a difference between referencing and copying. Copying is when you trace over the picture, and referencing is when you look at the picture and draw it. From what I’ve seen, you sometimes do both. Copying all together is a bad thing, and could actually cause you to be banned from deviantART for art theft, and referencing is just as bad, unless you ask the artist of the original picture for permission to use as reference material, and then in the description of the picture, put a link to the original picture and note that the artist did give you permission.

If you have copied or referenced a picture that, for instance, SEGA drew, SEGA could find the picture, and easily sue you for copyright violation. And yes, they CAN do that. =[

If you have trouble with poses, why don’t you take pictures of yourself making poses with a camera? Or take a picture of your friends, siblings, etc. That’s totally fine. That way, you and only you own the reference picture and you cannot get in trouble. Or, what you also can do, is if you find a picture on deviantART, then ASK the person for permission to use the drawing as reference material.

Also, don’t trace over the picture. That’s not referencing, and it’s called copying. Which is bad.

Look,i always write in my posts from who i take the poses! The most artists know me and never telling anything against that! (If they do,i'll delete the pics) Why is that stealing? If Kazu told me in another (normal) sound (like you) that they won't that, than i'll delete it in a flash.

Kazu hates me from the begining, because she think i steal her character katzu! (A violett lynx and a blue hedgehog) Whatever!

I won't bore you with such old stories,but tell me why it's stealing when the other (apart from kazu) don't say anything against that.

For example: I love Rico Sakaras work,sometimes i take a look of his style or poses! Sometimes he write nice comments in my gallery...where's the prob?Everybody takes inspirations from others,thats normal.Many artists (very good artists) take ideas from others. They write it and nobody say anything!

Do you know how many artists takes poses or character ideas from me? Someone steal my original pictures and my char. But why can i do? It's not my problem. Holy god it's only a picture.

I will try to find out for certain if it is still up, but I do think most of the users from that site have migrated her to deviantART since that happened 3 years ago. Hopefully she will get banned, just like !DeathJolly was banned for stealing pictures from Japanese art and styles from a Japanese artist.

Shit, to sad that the page is gone, I would be very interested in it. Well for me it's no wonder when there was nothing but stealed characters or poses, it's Kimiko-Lynx afterall! Geez I always hated her, I knowed her long enough and I knewed all along that somethings wrong with her pictures. Now that I know that she only copy's poses from others and steals characters she is more than just an attentionwhore in my eyes. I hope she will get banned for those things someday. It's a shame that she call herselfs a artist and thinks she can do what she wants to. Even if she would apologize, things can't be changed now and she will always called an art / character / pose thief.

Also, yes, the site is gone now I believe, if not it is inactive. But KIMIKO was the main user on that site who was stealing and editing people's works like `neoikeia and ~boltstryke's because, in her words, she didn't have enough time to come up with things on her own. Oh okay, if that's the key I apologize because of that, sometimes I missunderstand things quickly but I know now what you exactly meaned. There was a German art side which has stolen pictures? I guess this site is down now or does it exist any further? I would be very interested about that you know because I have many to do with art thieves and I have many of those in my eyes at the moment.
